I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't work, if it doesn't let me know what your stock settings are and I will try to find something that works for you.

I meant the brights with fogs. I already know how to do the double horn honk.

I know it was noted one the original post that "2017+" and Platinum Owner noted the correct values for the 2016 Plat to disable the double horn. Is there still a reason not to update this particular value on my 2017 Platinum or was the cautionary note due to the fact that the 2015 and earlier had a different set of values for the double honk? Thanks to this forum I'm all set with my FORScan setup and modified ELM327 I just need a bit of advice on if it's now safe to update the BCM 726-41-02 0001 0001 0071 to disable my double honk on my 2017 Platinum. Thanks!

Well, I tried it and it worked for the 2017 Platinum. Note, the real value is BCM 726-41-02 0000 0001 0071, my post above us the wrong checksum in it. No more honk honk when getting out of the car!

Does this mean it will work on a 2017 Ford Explorer Sport?

I'm new to ForSCAN (still researching) but it seems like a useful tool for some software tweaks.

There shouldn't be much different between the the 2017 Platinum and 2017 Sport BCM module. After the read values were captured the default value for the block matched what I was expecting to see I took a chance and made the change. After changing the value to 0000 0001 0071 and writing it back to the vehicle the change stuck. Remember to cycle the ignition at least once after the change.

I just disabled the double honk in my 2016 Explorer (Sport)

Slightly different than what was shown above (still same line in the BCM 726-41-02)

before was 0001 0001 0072

to disable it I needed to change it to 0000 0000 0070

EDIT: I have also confirmed this on a 2016 Limited. The default was the same as mine.

I changed mine to 0000 0000 0070 and it still disabled. Are you aware of what the difference between 0070 and 0071 is? I know that the second string is a check sum (where you have 0001)

Hi Bill, the correct value should be 0000 0001 0071 (Only the first 1 needs to be changed to a 0) give that a shot and report back!

Hi Simon - you are correct. I changed the values to 0000 0001 0071 and the computer module "blinked" I guess is a good way to put it. On exiting the car with the ignition on I got no more double honk. Not sure what else my original setting did beyond also getting rid of the double honk (the computer did not "blink" with my settings)

So... after reading many many FORscan posts, it seems great for all sorts of reprogramming. I too detest the dreaded double honk when I get out of the car while it's running and the key is in my pocket. Is there any way for a dealer or shop to disable the double honk? Or maybe someone in the Memphis area with FORscan? I'm not interested in any other FORscan trickery at the moment.

Free software + $20-$80 for an OBD reader, this is a 2min mod that you can easily perform yourself.
