Ordered a 22

Similar dates here, production 1/11, with a 1/25 delivery estimate. That estimate has been changed to 2/28 and today it reads 4/25. I’m disappointed to say the least. Is my new vehicle sitting in a parking lot for months??

There are many that are in the same predicament. Most of this is caused by the 'chip' shortage.

The 2023 Aviator begins production May 30th. I don't know about the Explorer.

Ordered a timberline on Dec 13 2021 got the email yesterday that it’s scheduled to be built Jan 10th
Similar dates here on a Timberline order. Ordered 12/13, built 1/09. Delivery estimate went from 1/25 to 2/28 to 4/25. Very disappointing. Not sure what’s going on.

I find these set backs in dates very odd. Over on the Lincoln forum, many Aviators seem to be being bumped up a month earlier from the initial dates. :dunno:

I don’t like the sounds of this. These are some major time frame push backs. I ordered 1/6, car went into production this week. not sure how long it will take for it to say built. my build was moved from 4/7 to this past week. my luck I’ll be in the same boat as you🙃

Hi, new to the forum! My name is David. I'm from Toronto, Canada. I ordered my Ford Explorer St-line 4wd week of December 12th. I haven't herd anything from the dealership. Is there anyway of tracking the vehicle online?

Have a look at this, Order Status of vehicles
I don't know if the info is up to date but you can try it. Did you at least receive the Order Acceptance (DORA) from your dealership?
Several members have been tracking their vehicles so perhaps they can add additional info. Good luck.

The dealer should have received the acceptance (DORA) shortly after the order was placed.

same with mine. It says "shipped" but the date changed from 2/12 to MAY 😭. Very disappointing considering the production date got moved up from the end of February and I got so excited! crossing my fingers the system is wrong. We called out dealership and they "confirmed" it was in transit- but that there may or may not be a railroad strike that could stall it.

Another member found out that when the date was moved to May the Explorer was sitting 'offsite' awaiting chips. Let's hope the shipped and in transit doesn't refer to going to that 'offsite' parking lot.

Peter

I hear if you get it without start stop, it could be moved up faster. Mirco chip shortage I believe has to do with the start stop technology that is I have herd. For 2022 you can order your vehicle with out it.

It is optional on the Base, XLT, Timberline and Limited with the 2.3L Ecoboost I-4.

Oh ok. Too bad it's not an option on the V6. I hate the whole idea of stop start idea.

You could always install the Stop-Start Eliminator or disable it with FORScan. Mine hasn't kicked in for about 6 months. Even when it was working, it didn't bother me and sometimes I didn't even notice it.

I work at a Chrysler dealership in Toronto as a parts specialist. Some of the newer vehicles with stop-start is just absolutely annoying. I turn it off whenever I get in one. We replace so many in a month for customers. Hard to get at times are back ordered like crazy. I liked the idea that Ford was giving the option to just opt out of it.
