Well at last, I'm working on my X again. My aunt gave it to me for my 17th b-day in '99 with only 45k miles on it. I remember when I first got into it and felt like I was in a damn 18wheeler-I'd never driven anything besides a car or my dad's little toyota pickup which was like 4 inches off the ground. I found this site and not too long after that, I bought a Flowmaster 50series with fabbed 2.5 pipes from the cat and a chrome tip on the end. Couldn't believe how badass it sounded, I still have people ask me if I swapped in a V8. For graduation I bought the 1.5" rough country coils, 2" warrior shackles, and rancho 5000's. My parents bought me all new tires, 31x10.5's and that was the end of my mods until now. After wasting time...

I don't have many pics of my X and there's not much done to it. These pics are some of the same ones I put in my vBGarage. These pics are after I claybarred and waxed my truck on an unsually warm December day here in Pennsylvania. I think the pics do a good job of hiding all the blemishes and giving the impression that my truck is nicer than it really is! :D You can see how the tires are all mudy and I live off a gravel driveway, so the Explorer remained in its pristine state for all of five minutes. Oh well, atleast I ahve the pics to prove it once looked good! Thanks for looking!!!
Recently joined the forum after purchasing our 2004 Explorere XLT V8 4wd to replace our ailing '04 Pontiac Montana. I've already benefited from the knowledge base here having diagnosed the rear ABS sender malfunction and how to find the combination key code. Along with the repairs mentioned we've replaced the passenger side rear wheel bearing and and the shift indicator needle assembly. I have some regular maintenance stuff I'll be doing as we go along. As we bought her... Broken fog light... A little bit of wear and tear on the driver's seat... Yes we are members of the split rear trim club... The "X" came with really nice winter tires on the stock alloy rims so we decided to pick up new wheels with new summer...

My names Jimmy, and iv been a member on the forum for a couple years now. Well, after all the help the forum has given me, i decided to give back and finally become elite. Now for a lil background on the truck: Its a 99, 4.0 SOHC, Automatic, with that crappy auto 4 wheel drive that i plan on ditching. I got the truck at the beginning of December 2009 as my first truck when i was 17... Needless to say i wasnt kind to it lol. I swamped it in the woods 4 days after i got it and killed the t-case, slid off the road in a snow storm and jacked up the front end a month later, and just beat this poor thing senselessly. I will say, it did make me a believer in the Explorers strength haha. But after about 15 months of ass whoopin, the timing...

I live in Gaithersburg MD- a suburb of Washington DC- with my wife and two children. Mara and Alec, both of whom have been on a few Explorer rides I put together in the GWNF near Harrisonburg. I also wheel with a club in the NVA,MD DC area when I get the time(not much lately). www.offcambercrawlers.com Im retired sort of; I sold a remodeling business a few years ago, also was a partner in a machine shop for a while, and started a painting company out of highschool. Currently my primary job is the kids, my wife travels frequently so I man the homefront, in my spare time I trade stocks/options, and go to school, usually while reading this board :D . I still find time for a rehab/construction project every once in a while also-...
I finally splurged and signed up. After being lazy, procrastinating, and being lazy some more I paid a measly 30 dollars and became an Elite Explorer. I highly encourage everyone to sign up. My Explorer is pretty much stock. No lift, ...yet. I've just bought some Superlift parts for the front and will get the rest soon. It sits on 31x10.5 Bridgestone Dueler Mud Terrain Tires. The first mod I did was to replace the auto hubs with Warn manual ones. It will always be in a stage of being upgraded. But here it is now. Hope you like it. Because that's the only reason I'm spending all this money on it in the first place. :D (This is with the sway bars still connected) Dead Link Removed Dead Link Removed Happy...
Well Gentlemen, it's official. Money has exchanged hands, and trucks are loaded up. I bought an '05 Ram 1500 Quad Cab with the HEMI this week. Doubt I'll be on the forum anymore, unless I'm helping out someone, or just coming back on to send a email to Rick to find out how the weather is in Arizona (like I don't know, hot!) Anyway, the trucks are on the road on their way to Michigan, sold to another club member. I appreciate all the good times and great people. Good luck and good times to all. P.S. Rick, have you got involved in any Dodge forums.... I know what your pull vehicle is.
