12/09 UPDATE: I have updated the Interior Mods section of my write up. Hey Everyone this is RPheezy, formerly known as the R. I have finally graduated to Elite Explorer status and I have uploaded pics of my rig. Below is a write up of all of the mods I've done complete with pictures. Please feel free to post questions or comments. BACKGROUND When I first got my truck in 98, I never planned for it to become what it is. I thought I would just do a few mods like a stereo upgrade and a few exterior fashion mods. Luckily when I got the truck, I got it with 4.10 gears, which saved me from having to regear when I finally put on my 33s. My brother had a 97 TJ and was fixing his up, so I started to learn about building an off...

Well I got bored and figured this would be a great time to finally build my registry. I've had this Explorer since mid-2008 and have since been building it up slowly. Here she is stock- Installing the body lift out in the garage- After the body lift install- Body lift with 265/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs- Next step was fixing the exhaust. Went with a Flowmaster 50 SUV series- Now onto the interior: I took out the old flip out dvd player and went with an alpine cda-9886, very nice unit by the way. Also, I have my ipod hooked up to it, xm radio, and bluetooth. Sorry this pic is sideways but you can see the headunit, xm, and also my scanguage II- Here is a closeup of the XM and scanguage II. Thanks for checking out my thread! I've owned about a dozen 1st & 2nd gen Explorers over the last 8 years. I've done Dana 44's on a 1st gen, coilovers on a 2nd gen, uniball uppers, leveling kits, lift kits, fabricated a handful of front ends, shock hoops, bedcages, the list goes on and on. For my latest truck, I began my search towards the end of last summer & actually started out looking for a 2nd gen, (I really like the ones with the AC in the center console). Thankfully this truck was not needed as a daily driver, so I was able to take my time. I happen to stumble across this extremely clean 1st gen that reminded me so much of my favorite Explorer, which was also a white 94 with black wheels. I could not pass this truck up. Here in...
Hey guys, thoght I would make a registry for my explorer. I bought my EX for $1800 about a year ago with 132,000 miles on it. Strong motor, she ran smooth, and a bunch of little issues. That is when I was searching to resolve them and found this site. It all started with the drivers side door sag, which was quickly taken care of thanks to DeRocha's how to thread. Then there was some missing interior parts like a few light covers, rear vanity cover and a broken arm rest. I dragged my girlfriend with me to the junkyard in the rain (her first time to a junk yard) and ended up finding everything I needed. I also changed most fluids, oil, transmission/filter, radiator, lubed suspension. Didn't plan on doing much with the explorer until I...
