So I am not the best with off-set, so maybe you can help me. My 1999 Mountaineer has the 15" rims, 7" wide, and ET12. (5.0, AWD) A 2021 Lincoln Aviator has some cool greyish rims, 8" wide 19" diameter, with an ET37.5. On the 99, from the centerline (at 3.5") the offset is 3", right? On the 21, from the centerline (at 4") the offset is more like 3.5"? So the 21 rims sit 1/2" deeper, or closer to the suspension? I also understand the hub would need bored maybe to fit the 99, out to like 70.5mm or something. I think these would look great, not sure I want to tackle boring them and spacers, but thought it was a good exercise for me to learn.
What do you know about Rotiform wheels? I'm looking for a new set of wheels for my 2014 Explorer when I saw this product on the Internet. I want to purchase the SPF R120 model in silver machined finish since I am not a fan of black wheels. I have attached a photo of the said model for your reference.
Hello, I just had all 4 tires replaced, aligned and balanced at Firestone. They charged me $860 and when I drove off the lot everything was fine, until I made it to the highway and then a very loud creaking sound started coming from my front left wheel well when I accelerate or decelerate. I doubt the mechanics did anything intentionally, but I did not just pay almost $900 for there to be any additional problems. I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition if this helps. What could this be?
So, when I bought my '99 Explorer, one of the first things I did was a shackle-and-torsion-twist lift to it, allowing me to replace the stock 235/75-15 tires with some 31x10.5x15 "Wild Country" or "Open Country" mud tires from my local Les Schwab tire dealer. I know they were a Toyo-manufactured tire, and I'm virtually positive that they were "Wild Country" but all I see from Toyo now is "Open Country", so, maybe memory is hazy. It was 18 or 19 years ago. :P Anyhow, I absolutely loved the way these tires looked and performed off-road, but I was young and dumb, and quickly learned (as quickly as running these bald) that off-road tires for a daily driver (that was also my only vehicle, at the time) wasn't the wisest decision. I don't...
Any pictures of a 3rd gen with 265/75 tires without a lift. I have an 06 Eddie and would like to put on the largest tire possible, without having to lift? I had seen this on the forums, hope the owner doesn't mind me posting, This is the exact look I want to go for without a lift i.e wheels & tire look, is it possible. Thank you, and any ideas are appreciated.
Hear me out. I've got a '94 2 Door 2WD with the 5 speed that I drive daily, but I also drive it on gravel/dirt fairly often. I'm a hiker and just generally like playing around in the woods so I find myself on 15-20 mile access road drives often. I run 255/70 R15 General AT2's on the stock 15x7 aluminum wheels and they do great out on trails, even at the 28psi that I run on the road. I don't get into anything too aggressive because it is just a 2WD. I've been interested in trying out airing down to help with comfort on rougher terrain. A 10 mile drive to a trailhead isn't too bad because I'm hyped up to go hiking, But the 10 mile drive out the next day isn't always as enjoyable, especially after a heavy hike. I've been putting...
