WHOOPS!!

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Post pictures and stories of your best...or worst mishaps here.

So last week my wife was going through an intersection when some :censored: guy in a Chevy truck ran a red light and took the front end off her 97 EB that only had 90,000 miles on its sexy V8. The lights are close to synced in that area but no quite. So he thought he could time the light and get there on time. By the distance that he threw debris down the road he was going way over the 35 mph limit. He proceeded to drive through her car over a fire hydrant and total a Neon parked in a parking lot before he got stopped. He hit her hard enough that she spun around 270 degrees and the only reason she stopped is the passenger side hit his tailgate. The Explorer did its job she walked away a little sore but feels better now...
Last May my girlfriend had an accident in her '96 Lumina. Driver pulled out left fast and swiped her front left. Damage wasn't too bad. Threw in a new tail light, hammered the steel bumper and hood back in to shape, and got a new plastic bumper and fender from the local junkyard. Best part was the insurance company totaled it and let her keep it for 1400 bucks. Repairs only cost $185! :biggthump Back on the road to this day and running strong. However after picking up three jobs and on the verge on moving in to her first place, she humbly requested to use the Ex to get her to work and back. Thought to myself, theres no way another accident would possibly happen. Our explorers are invincible, aren't they? Well, a mere...
I'm having a problem with my 99 Explorer 4.0L SOHC, misfire in cylinder 1 p0301 and can't seem to figure out the problem. Truck has 154k and a rough idle and bad acceleration. I've checked and tried everything I can think of so I looking for a little help here. Ignition system seems to be okay. It has new motorcraft plugs gap to spec, new wires ohm out to spec, and a new coil pack also ohm out to spec. I've also tried swaping plugs from different cylinders, no change. I've checked the compression on a few of the cylinders, all are within 10psi of each other. Cylinder 1 leakdown test passed. Fuel system seems to be working. Injectors ohm out to spec and are all close in ohms. I've swapped injectors 1 and 2 no change. I'm getting...
Well it all started this morning. A co-worker and I decided to do a little offroading today in a new area. He has a full size gmc jimmy and of course i have my 95 Xlt. So we head out, finally we reach the new trails...looks fun. We pull in its a muddy wet mess, we continue on. 1 mile or so in we come across a mud hole.. "ive heard of this one he says".. I grin. I nose up to it he is guiding me in inch by inch. WHAM!!! all of a sudden im up to the hood immeditally my explorer shut down... HYDROLOCK OH NO..... My buddy hooks the blazer to me and spin spin jerk jerk and finally im out. First things first spark plugs gotta go. Pull them out fairly simple ordeal until... I DROPPED A DAMN PLUG IN THE DAMN MUDHOLE..... NOOOOO!!!!! After...
Did a 5 tire rotation this morning. Went out on my break at work just now and saw this That's my wheel lock key... Luckily, the dumbtards that work at the last tire shop I took my truck to used an air torque wrench on the key to take off the lock, instead of a hand wrench, and buggered up the metal, so it wedges itself now. Cursed those guys until now- Guess I'm the dumbtard now lolol..
everybody always sees pics of my EX doin this Well my rig also floats well for a few minutes, i was playin in the water holes at silver lake sand dunes drivin in water up to my hood deep, and i went into this hole slow (didn't want a big wave) and as i was goin in my frt kept goin down until it suddenly floated up and i lost contact with ground, i threw it in reverse and no wheels on the grd, just alot of splashing, i started to move sideways in the water, and by that time i decided to shut down the engine (which was runnin fine, no water taken in because of my snorkel) and bail out, the water had my center console completely submerged, Wife was in back seat NOT HAPPY, so i crawled through the window jumped...
So my explorer was running a little rough. I maybe drive it 3K miles a year so I thought the injectors or something got dirty and tried some cleaners. Decided to pull all the spark plugs and found this. I don't remember exactly when I put these plugs in but it can't have been more than 10k miles ago. I promptly changed all the plugs to Motorcraft.
