worst last day of school ever

well the pictures talk for themselves. as i was entering an intersection, a large white moving van ran the red light and t boned me. to top if off, the ***hole drove off. $4000 later it was fixed, but this is what i was left with..

Looks like your X did its job. You're safe. 4K ain't cheap but it could have been you that needed repairs. BTW awesome paint. I like that colour.

yeah, thanks guys. the explorer is a beast, no joke. mine does not have side impact bags, but i still came out of the crash with just a few bruises and scrapes from the glass.

and yeah, that chestnut brown is one of my favorite colors.

The repairs came out nice! Body work is an art that not every body shop knows how to conquer.

Wow, you got smacked good. Kudos to ya for getting it fixed though That's a real pretty X.

the driver sped off, he was driving some huge moving van, so i assume it did not have much damage. i assume he did not have insurance, thats why he didn't stop.

in the end, it needed the driver side column replaced as well as the 2 doors. thankfully, no frame damage was done and no other panels were touched. other than that, just hooked up the electronics (like speakers, window controls, etc) and now its back to working like new!!

Glad it turned out so well for you. One thing Ford has almost always done well is build a very strong chassis. If you had been driving a Nissan or Toyota it would have been about double the damage, and 3x the cost to repair. Speaking from personal experience-my former FourRunner getting a similar impact.

i know what you mean. while my x was in the body shop, i bought a little acura tl to drive while i didn't have a truck, and i could just tell i was gonna get hurt if the same thing happened in that car
