Very good, the turbo I have is a stock Talon, you are way past that. I was given a ride in one in about 1998, a plain looking 11.6 second Talon. The guy knew his stuff, they did a lot back then with the OEM turbos. He moved to SC the next year and sold me the extra turbo, he was getting serious with the aftermarket parts. Those cars are light enough that the trans and axles can take the power well. The heavier Stealth's axles and trans didn't last long with big power. Regards,

Yes these are definitely cars with potential. We bought a 92' not to long ago and made 555awhp on a hx35/40 at 33spi. Incredible fast, was like a bike.

John Shephard (current world 1/4 holder on stock chassi car) sells upgraded tranny and transfer cases that can pretty much take anything you throw at them.

Inside shot of same race
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbRmMCtja5Y

If you look at times Shephard actually won that race.

That's with his dog box tranny. I had the stage 4 street tranny right under the dog box, only like $2,500. The Talon we bought was actually Johns first Talon.

You yo have a 14b turbo? How much?

I gave $100 for it long ago and doubt I'll need it. I'd still like to do two turbo's in my Lincoln, but that's way way off. If you could use it I can take pictures and be sure of what it is first.

Your in dpxtwo! Good job!

Alex, what have you been up to?

Alex, what have you been up to?

Hey whats up Don. I have been busy with work, new baby boy and the Talon still. How have you been? How is your project coming along?

Your in dpxtwo! Good job!

Edit-Just read your PM, so you answered my question;) What the goal with the Talon? Texas Mile or something?

Glad to see you back and congrats on the baby;)

Thank you. My baby has been an incredible blessing thats for sure. Funny because his first word, and for MONTHS was "cars". Everything was CARS to him. I wonder where he got that? :p:

I have big plans for the Talon. Its a 92' auto, looking for 750-800awhp on a hybrid HX50 turbo. With all the supporting mods of course. I am also doing a full body conversion and installed JDM Silvia front headlights. It will also be a full weight DD :D It should be purdy quick ;)

When I was 16, my dad had a 91' AWD Eclipse Turbo that I drove to school because my Rangers battery was dead. Got to school, took a friend for a spin and passed a car that was going slow. I was doing 89 in a 55 and out popped a cop:( Pulled me over with no tags or insurance on the car. We talked a short bit and he gave me a verbal warning:D It was a fun car while it lasted, but seemed to have a lot of small problems and my dad traded it off for a fourwheeler.

Hopefully when the weather cools off, I'll be headed to the track to get some better times in. We need to get some more competition going here....

Edit- On Musclemustangfastfords.com, they are doing a buildup on a Mustang that has a similar motor/supercharger as to what you are building. When they get done, we'll know what kind of power to expect from your motor.

The Talon sounds fun, I've been for a ride one time in a 12 second auto Talon. Those cars can fly with little work.

Alex, your modular V8 is going to make a lot more power than the magazine engine. They always neglect a few items of the intake parts, the cam 100% of the time. They never use a good cam, so figure a good 10-15% more HP than theirs.

My Talon is an auto also. Asking experiencing how snappy and consistant an auto can be with my X, I dont even want to bother having a 5spd. Maybe its also an age thing :)

So is the magazine car also a 324ci? I'm also going to be running meth and will prob spin the crud out of the TVS. Is it the current issue? My wife just left to the store and asked me if I needed anything :)

Just looked for it under projects on the .com and I can't find it. If you have a linky please share :)

Thanks for the links.

I'm getting pumped up again about building up my motor!

Why is everyone's 5.0 so slow stock??

My buddies Expedition runs 16.7 and I leave him behind and my brother has a 02 SOHC and my truck is quicker than that too, though I don't leave it that far behind.

I keep swearing I have one the factory freak 5.0s that ford has produced! 22mpg too @ 118km/h

No it's just stock LOL. I has Dual side exhaust now and no rear cats, but at the time when it was stock I beat the SOHC, and after the exhaust I think it made a bit more of a difference? It will though when I get the headers and tune

I just ordered my headers today! i'm getting the 1.5" primaries with the 2 3/8 collectors.

Take it to the track and get some times!

But yeah, 5.0's are slow and 4.6's are faster:D

Yes I see that most 5.0s are slow. I'm pretty sure I won't by another after this because I won't get this lucky twice.

On a side note. How come C&D only managed 17s with the 292hp 4.6???? I've seen faster times with the 240hp 4.6 and some 5.0s for that matter....

My headers will be here in 2 weeks and then I'm getting a 91 tune, so this friday I have to pass the local on my way to quebec

Not sure why C&D only got 17's in the 3V 4.6, I've run 15.9 with only exhaust on an otherwise stock 02' 4x4 Limited at full weight(1/8 tank of gas) I've run a best of 15.2 with tune, efan and exhaust on 20's(took the seats out).

Nate- What track will you be running at? I want to see if I can find it and figure out what your DA is. When I ran a 15.2, the DA was over 1900 and I should have been running closer to 14.7 at the normal track level.

Also, I predict you will be running mid-low 16's until you get your cam in place;)

Yea I was thinking mid-low 16s. Then I'll test the headers and tune.

No idea why C&D got 17s with the most powerful explorer yet.

Shannonville ontario is where the track is
