Sure
If Troll wants to post up his timeslip he can be added to the list.

Fair enough............just thought since there is "proof" via video that it would be okay.....wasnt aware it had to be submitted by the owner only? I'm just a drag guy and the few guys who have hotrodded these things are few and far between so having info or their name associated with the list might help other like minded people:)

Welp finally went and made another pass in the Sport! it was the last track day at Atlanta Dragway so some friends and I got together. This is with a cold air filter extension/aftermarket muffler and my Henson tune on a cold night. I knew it had this time in her and i was able to lauch alot better on my new rubber! Truck weighed in at 3990lbs with me in it with less than a 1/4 tank. Has 233k miles on original engine and dynoed at 175/201 some months back. Im going for 14s on the opening track day next year! Thinking a full exhaust may give me that alone if im lucky! that makes the 3rd on the list and the fastest SOHC v6 n/a right?

Long time no see guys... I had some concerns after finally doing some runs after I finally got a tune on a SCT Xcal3.

1/8 mile 'backroad' testing with a tune from MPT performance on '91 octane race shift settings'

10.01@60.5 MPH

4600+/-50 lbs

99 Explorer V8 AWD
stock 302 internals w/ 1" intake manifold spacer, 1.7 rr, and high flow cone filter
Torque Monster Headers, hi-flow cats, full 2.5 exhaust w/ Magnaflow muffler, 3" side swept out
factory 3:73 gears and 16" wheels

So 0-60 is around 10 seconds at 3000' elevation. Does this seem slow or what? 125k on the engine, everything works great, no loss in compression. The only thing I can think of now, does lubing/bearings/diff make a big difference in driving resistance? Does a Henson tune really wake up the engine with mods?

Thanks guys.

I would say that your 0-60 time is slow even at your elevation. I would expect that for a stock car, but not with the mods you have.

Also, if you are not getting your times from the track but instead of from a phone app or something, I am pretty sure that won't qualify you to make the list.

Lastly, I have a Henson tune and I am more than happy with it. If your tune you have isn't designed around the mods you have, then it's most likely a waste. Since you already have an SCTX3, I would send James and email and see what he can do for you. I believe you can do a little datalogging and James will be able to fine tune the tune you want.

Thanks for the insight, Limited. I'm going to be going over all other possible reasons for the hang up this week (plugs, wires, coils, fuel system, etc). I also plan on going to the local track next open test/tune night, BUT I wanted to make sure I'm all dialed in before making the effort. I'm probably going to give Henson a call, my last tune added 'some' but it sounds like the aforementioned specializes in the GT40 truck 302's.

4pointslow - Very nice time and congrats on the run! Looking forward to that picture you mentioned in your attached thread

Time Slip

Thanks Limited!
I think I am addicted. Whatever I run it still isn't enough and I walk around thinking, what can I do next and how much will it drop my quarter mile times.
Anyone else have this problem?

Well i see this Thread has died again! Last year i was able to grab a couple of 15.4s out of my sport with it being barely modded. Im going to the track tonight with some friends to see if I can get a 15.3. Wish me luck!

Excellent times, well done with that great V6.

I've been paying attention to this list for a couple years now and I think I've finally got something to make some waves. Of course it's winter here so the tracks are shut down until spring but Ill be posting my NA timeslips as soon as opening day hits. I'm gunning for the #1 spot NA for this spring then setting my goals a bit higher and going for the 11-12 second range with turbo and a couple little tweaks :sawzall:

Which of the two in your sig will be the one running the 1/4?

Depending on what happens come Spring, I may part ways with my Explorer and move to something else. If not, then we'll see who can snatch the #1 N/A spot

Neither, I have to update my Sig. I just started building a 97 2wd SOHC. It's a 3.73 posi rear, I swapped the stock M5OD gear set out for a low ratio 4 cylinder gear set and finished the 5 speed swap a few weeks ago. I am pecking away at the easy stuff until the track reopen's now. It's been legally on the road for 3 weeks and since then I've lowered it, K&N intake, stainless Magnaflow exhaust and 18x10 Ford Racing Cobra reps on it.
By spring it will have electric fans, I'm swapping out the M5OD for Tremec and spend some time on the dyno after a few other mods are finished.

The plan has been 12's with the Turbo'd SOHC since before I bought the truck but I figure why not mess with it NA for a half a season and put a bit more time into the Turbo engine.

Explorer

Keep up the good work and don't loose interest in this project.
If things go wrong just keep on keeping on and you will achieve your goals.
I would love to see that truck hit 12's!
