I recently acquired a 1997 V8 AWD Explorer and it failed inspection b/c running lights wouldn't light. I finally troubleshot it to the headlight switch, found the wires, connecting harness, and switch were melted. Replaced the harness and switch (soldered and shrink wrapped each wire) but have the same problem.
I think whoever "fixed" this before might have cross-wired the connector wires? So I'm in need of a drawing or pin out diagram that shows me the switch connectors, their function, and color coding. Can anyone give me some insight/wisdom/knowledge about this problem? I've read in other forums where this switch problem seems common?
Thanks in advance.
