p0401 should i check hoses first? then if all good... go ahead and just replace the sensor?

i am going to install a billet grill and bumper grill. i guess i have to take off the plate to install the bumper grill. MN requires front plate. where can i get the plugs? or if i do need rivets...(for the grill which wernt in the package per instructions..) where can i get them and do i need a tool... just want to have all my chickens in a row before i go rippin and tearing it out..
