  • 97 Aerostar Rear End Noise. Rear end and the axle bearings likely. Replaced several worn rear end gears and both axle bearings. Did not eleminate all the noise. I decided to drive it with the noise. Mechanic friend thought noise was coming mostly from the bearings and thought he had not got the right adjustment on new gears. I have noticed at certain speeds, no noise from rear end or wheel bearings. Will get it back to him to try adjusting the rear end..

The engine had also started running rough/sluggish and the "check engine light" came on. I used my CarMD to check readings on engine. It came up with code P305, #5 misfiring. I decided to takle this myself and change all 6 spark plugs and wires, but had to have a mechanic change #6. After driving for 200 miles, the check engine light has not come on and it is running great.
