Absolute first Ford anything I've ever owned.

I've always had a Chevy or GMC pickup (dating back to 1975, when the Vega Panel Truck died) -- but I'm retired, don't haul plywood much any more, and wanted a nice smaller size SUV that got good gas mileage and would allow me, my wife, and the dog to overnight in on fishing trips to the mountain lakes.
After looking at Chevy/GMC models, I couldn't find anything that would accommodate overnight trips, so I asked a dealer "well, do you have maybe an Explorer that has a tow package?"
Magic question. They had a 2014 Explorer with a broken air conditioner that was grossly overpriced. BUT. The interior was ideal, and I started researching specs. I ended up with a candy apple red 2012 Explorer with 120,000 miles, a class 3 hitch, and a torn driver side speaker for a really good price.
I've ordered Pioneer speakers, and I'll be adding crossbars to the roof rails.

This might be with me until they take my driver's license away!

This thing is amazing, and my Goldendoodle loves it! Wife does, too, but she gets 32 miles/gallon in her Subaru.
