The first pic is an IFS truck as you know and the second is a TTB(twin traction beam sometimes reffered to as I-beam suspension)

Are you talking about doing a manual tranny swap on a second gen explorer? The frame is totaly different on a second gen due to the IFS replacing the TTB on the first gens but the tranny swap should basically be the same with a few minor exeptions due to year differences but dont take my word for it as I havent done it on a sec gen.

Judging by the link provided above i don't think this will be to terribly difficult. it'll definetly stretch my abilities but i think i can handle it. Hopefully with plenty of preparation i can get it done without a hitch.
