2002 eb cd changer replacement... steering wheel control?

the 6 cd changer in my 2002 eb gave out recently, think there is a problem with the motor. the radio still works, but i am ready to replace the unit as it had not been working very well.

my question is, how do i know which units will be compatible with the steering wheel controls? just factory models? or would after market units work with this as well? i've gotten used to the steering wheel control and would like to find a replacement compatible with it!

Only the factory stereos are compatible with the steering wheel controls. But a nice I-pod adaptor to the factory stereo will allow you to control the i-pod from the steering wheel controls.

Speaking strictly plug 'n play, yes, you are correct. However something like

I just fixed my CD6 changer for $80, found them on fleabay.
Do you have the Audiophile system, or Sub woofer.
I think any OEM will work with the steering but aftermarket you have to buy something. I also have the Rear DVD Player, OEM is about the only thing to make it all work.
