Canadian Backroads

I think it's incredible how it manages to take surfaces and areas that would take forever to blend - and stiches them seamlessly. Check the cloud formations and lake surfaces in the previous shots (and the lawn in your shot)

and it's open-source:thumbsup:

Hope Mtn Forestry Sevice road

Just past Hope Eastbound, first right after turning onto hwy 3, you hook to the right and start climbing.
Was raining at home but soon we were above the clouds. Very scenic, somewhat moderate driving with plenty of ditch crossing and great views.

sick country

Nahatlatch river valley

Alright here is another nice area, got there and back on 3/4 tank of gas from Hope.
I accessed the valley from highway 1 to Boston Bar, crossed the Fraser river into North Bend, then followed the road upriver until it turned into Nahatlatch FSR. There are 3 must see things to do in there.

First, you can take a branch road called the Four Barrel mainline and follow it up, and up and up, until you reach an old fire lookout. Here are some pics:

Second is Grizzly falls at the far end of the lakes system (road to left just past the gated bridge)

And there is a spot along the high bench part of the road, where you can find "high bench lookout" and watch for the rock ramp next to the road. Drive on the ramp and get a pic, but don't drive too far or you will go over..

Nice to see your still getting out. I had to put a new motor in my Ex last month I was only running on 5 or maybe even 4 1/2 cyclinders. Would be nice to get together again sometime.

Carson

Carson! How are ya doing? didn't seem like so well last time we e-mailed. I might do Whipsaw in September, someone I know mentioned he wanted to go with some other friends at that time. I also would really like to hit Sloquet hotsprings again one day. My Ex is running great right now, sorted out a rear brake issue I was having for like two years, didn't realize one side of my brake cylinder was hanging up. Anyway PM me we should really do a weekend thing this summer at least.

Haven’t posted here in a while. The Explorer is running like a champ!
Been getting out a lot.
Look!
