1991 Ford Explorer excessive humming noise.

I have a 1991 Ford Explorer XLT (not 4wh) experiencing excessive humming noise between 40 to 55. Have replaced tires, alignment, no change. Any ideas?

i had a S-10 that had a humming noise, thought it was tires but ended up being a front wheel bearing.

Did the noise increase over 40 and decrease after 55?

does the hum occur when you let off the gas? I had a wicked humming noise on the freeway that turned out to be a bad u joint.....does your truck clunk at all when you put it in gear?
