I happened to get my hands on a good 200a alternator off a Crown Vic PI, I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to mount these on a 1st gen?

The stock mounting system is basically perpendicular to the mounts on the newer units so maybe this isn't doable but I figured if it could be done someone here would have tried it. :D

Looks like you have the makings of a nice project there. Make sure to let us know how it comes out ;)

lol, that's not the answer I was looking for :D

I doubt it is do-able, or at least not worth the work. I've seen people use 3g's on older rigs BUT only if the mount is correct. If the mount isn't correct people just don't use 'em. One of the examples I've seen of when its the "wrong" alternator is when the mounting is 90 degrees off.
