hey everyone
my sister-in-law had pulled out of her laneway and went around a bend to find that someone had been sliding towards her so she tried to go around but could not correct and hit a tree, do you guys think it can be fixed or worth fixing, it has 130000 (80000 Miles) kms on it, and from what i can tell the battery has been pushed back along with the abs pump and power distribution box, power steering pump pulley damaged, Tie rod end, plus of course the body, take a look at the pictures.
Thanks for your time

It's FUBAR. The frame has to be bent which is not worth the time, money & effort to fix.

I say your best bet is to sell it, buy a gun and shoot your sister-in-law :D

She looks pretty banged up,(the X not your sister in law) but get a quote for the parts you need and weigh that price up against another X. If you don't fix it at least you'll have plenty of spares.

Thats totaled. Way to much damage there for anyone to make it worth fixing unless your intention is completely custom but even at that the frame is definitely damaged. I hope she ok from the accident. That looks like a pretty good hit.

Pix of your SIL? lol

I wouldn't trust that truck even if fixed, way too much damage

Good for parts... Engine? Transmission? Tires...

...armrest pad :D

there's 2 grand in air bags alone that have to be replaced.

and you haven't even got to the outside.

But! everything is repairable. and I have seen wrecks like this lately get repaire when everyone said it was totaled.

Your frame is definately bent on the drivers side from the looks of it.. The cost of fixing it out weighs the value of the rig in my opinion. Your easily looking at over $1500 in parts alone. You definately need a new hood, latch, insulator, hood, grille, supports, fender, inner fender, etc. Just write it off.

do you know what the book value was or is?

Value should be around $3500. Sadly though with the economy, the value of the rigs has dropped.. Recent auctions have seen 2nd gens go for as low as $1000 for 99-00 models.

saying the same thing as everyone else. let them write it off. even looking at the pics, the firewall might even have damage on it. it you had to take that to a shop, you would have a bill of at least 10,000 or more. and that would just be labour.

The tree looks good though!

That poor things a goner. :dead:

ugh, what a shame...but with only 80K miles on it...it would be a nice donor truck
if you have full coverage you would be better off getting a new one, if not you get get another cheap one off craigslist that needs a motor or tranny

she only had the thing for a month, and i did all the work on it :( should i try to get the battery out and try to start it??

The engine is touching the radiator so I would suggest a BIG no on starting the engine. Personally just call the insurance and get them to write it off and start the car search. The amount of damage done to the car you could make the battery explode because a power wire/WIRES could be touching the frame and other spots. You would just end up draining the battery in 2 seconds from hooking it up.
