Does anyone know where I can find the device that chimes when the door is open, etc.? I would like to disable the chime permanently.

on my 93 there was a little black box under the dash on the drivers side

Chime & tone generator

According to my 2000 wiring diagram the chime and tone generator is part of the generic electronic module (GEM)/central timer module (CTM) behind center of instrument panel. It would not be a good idea to disconnect the GEM/CTM since it is involved with numerous functions. The chime is used to notify the driver when the airbag light is burned out as well as when the key is left in the ignition. If you don't ever want to hear it you might be able to muffle the chime speaker opening with tape.

Thanks for the replies. Since it's part of the GEM, I think I'll just leave it be, lol.
