Brake fluid upgrade in 01 EST

Ive been doing alot of towing, and had some brake overheating issues from faulty trailer brakes. Fixed the trailer problem, and am now replacing the front calipers, pads, rotors.

I run the hi-temp DOT 4 in my race car, and since the brakes do work hard in the ST, want to use it there.

any issues? Is the standard fluid DOT 3?

I plan on a full system flush.

DOT4 is compatible with any system designed for DOT3, but DOT4 absorbs moisture quicker than DOT3, so it should be flushed more frequently. when DOT4 ages it can actually perform worse than DOT3 at a similar age because of the moisture it has absorbed...

Yep, DOT 4 is fully compatible, just stay away from DOT 5, it will destroy your braking system.

DOT 4 high temp is in, and system flushed. Damn was the old fluid dirty! Clean and blue now. Truck is stopping better too!
