04 explorer awful grinding sound+ 4x4 high blinking.help

I have an 04 explorer and it has an awful grinding sound coming from the left front. you can feel it slightly in the steering wheel. ive replaced the wheel bearing and breaks with no change. sometimes when i turm hard to the left like in a parking lot it kinda pops and the four wheel drive kicks in and the 4x4 high light flashes. thanks

The grinding and popping may be caused by dry steering stops at maximum wheel turn.
Use heavy grease on both contact points. Check your caliper bolts while you're there.

Are you getting vibration in your steering wheel while you are driving?

The grinding sound never stops no matter what way you turn.it's worse when you turn left.

you have an 04, do you have rsc / advance track? some 04 have rear axle tone rings which break cause 4x4 to turn on.

else. i would say you have a bad speed sensor.

if you use a cheap knock off hub that could also be the issues.
