:D

Well i have 1 month left till i have to get her inspected again so the rush is on!... to save 15 bucks... lol. I still havnt ordered the clutches i need... I think im going to over stuff the clutch packs, and ditch the thick retainer plate on the clutch packs...
I am going to be running Fuel hose for my tranny lines. Im going to try to keep this sort of thing from happening again. Im almost done painting it black... I ghosted the ghost busters emblem on the fenders... ill get a pic tomorrow...

I forgot to mention i replaced the front u joint that connects the front axle to the drive shaft... I also fixed my hubs..

Ok so today i was messing with the trans hoses. I replaced the one that blew.. it wraps behind the core support to protect it... Im going to replace the metal lines going to the back for fuel grade rubber hoses.. mainly because i cut the cooler lines. There are 2, 3 inch long hoses connecting it... which is another failure point. What do you guys think?

well its been a while, Got the tranny rebuilt. i used extra clutches in all gears. I test drove it, It only wants to go into 2nd if i manually put it in 2nd it wont switch on its own... and no reverse... Im going to swap governers. I just took the pan off. The reverse servo isnt hitting the band... The same thing happened to skillz105's explorer. I rebuilt the tranny thats in his truck. I got it re aligned with 2 screw drivers and it works perfect now. i almost have the vb off but ima mess with it tomorrow prolly

heres some pics i have taken lately..

He got the one on the bottom..

anyways ill post more when i get some more done. I have been helping skillz105 with his truck lately...

Hey Glad To see You guys Working Together At PaP , thats what me and my bro try to do , hit the yard together and try and get some good stuff !

replaced battery terminals today, mainly because in traffic the battery would lose connection due to not being able to tighten the old ones, which would make the truck lerch forward and act like its going to die... if you look on the positive terminal There was a LOT of corrosion on the red wire, which is why its so swollen.

Well today i got my exhaust tailpipe made (7 pieces incuding the glass pack) having the tailpipe def quiets it down a lot, it sounds way better too. Im very pleased. Tomorrow i have to get it ready to go to the inspection station so i can get it passed...

Yeah I think I'm about ready to put tail pipes on mine. Although I think I will run true duals by tapping into the y-pipe on the driver side and running a pipe that way. Since I have a 2 wheel drive, I don't have a t-case in the way on that side.

This exact setup was done on an old ranger I had over 10yrs ago w/ a v6 and it sounded good.

Well i guess its time to update. I blew my alternator out causing my truck to be delayed on getting it inspected/registered to drive. On top of that my battery keeps leaking so that has to be replaced too. So i have been doing a lot of cleaning up on it. I got rid of all the mud on the engine bay, and i completely re-wrapped all the electrical harness. mainly because it was falling apart. I also removed my ac stuff. Im going to pull the rest of it out but i have to pull the dash out. When i do ill clean up the wiring on the dash as well but anyways here are some pics. theres more that i have done but i cant remember right know :p

534357_3853715819926_1189221128_33711463_890674156_n.jpg

got my coolant light working, and added underdash lighting:

Im going to repaint my truck again. i hate the flat black it stains/ scratches/ shows marks way too easily. I test painted the fender with rustoleum black enamel.

562538_3871256218425_1189221128_33719074_344642562_n.jpg

and lastly i repainted the front grille/bumper, and core support.

The last thing i did was fix the poor idle. if you look at the first picture you can see a piece of dirt covering the hole on the butterfly causing it not to idle correctly. So it should run just fine now :D

I also bought a antique semi horn :D i paid 18 bucks for it. its 32" long. Im going to install it on the truck at some point. Until then stay tuned!

Big update!

Well first off i must apologize for being so inactive on the forum. last September i got a job finally and it has been taking up most of my time. as soon as i got employed i got side tracked and wound up buying a 95 camaro for 500 bucks. i had it in february and still do. its almost sold but heres a pic:
392675_10200714675527808_1421492627_n.jpg

but yeah i completely put my explorer on the back burner until now. the past month i have been working on it almost every day.
1005941_10201124906063315_1538053891_n.jpg

the motor is completely out and disassembled i need to drill out some broke off studs in the head, and i need a complete gasket set for it. i also need a manual trans and transfer case. the entire engine bay wiring harness was removed, recovered, and re mounted to clear all the moving parts etc.
6497_10201120034341525_1831231420_n.jpg

as you can see by the pics i made a light bar and mounted 4 baja halogen fog lights. i am putting 2 more on my front bumper as well.
934676_10201075799875691_1355347919_n.jpg
i am also going to an electric fan. mainly because my truck always got good mileage at speed, but when it was sitting in traffic it gulped fuel like a mother. right know im working on welding up the roof, the entire interior is out. This is the most tore down my truck has been since i have owned it. the front axle was rebuilt with moog radius arm bushings, and axle pivot bushings. its got new caliper, and pads. its going to take about a month to get her back up to running condition but things will go a lot faster once i sell my camaro. the motor blew in it, and someone broke into it. I have it sold hopefully for 850. i broke even on it. but yeah heres the MOST recent pic i have (from today)
5539_10201138433481492_422168378_n.jpg
stay tuned! :D

Not much to post so far. got my fog lights somewhat wired up, got an M5OD trans for it, along with all the little stuff i need. engine is painted blue and just waiting on my heads to get fixed then it will get all new gaskets and re assembled. also got my door jams painted anyways heres some progress pics

hey man i too have a 94 ford explorer.. however shes in amazing condition so i havent had any reason to rip into her yet... only thing i did was new shocks, power steering pump, ac pump, battery and brakes.. after reading your entire forum i almost cant wait for something to break so i can fix it lol. i have 3 other perfectly running vehicles including my other child a 1990 crx SI (project car with B16a2 swap in it). so if Big bertha breaks.. i can park her long term for repairs! reading your forum im glad to see you got a job and can drop some money into her. Trust me on this like many others say.. they wish they kept that one project... well i believe this is your project and if you ever have that feeling like you want to sell or get rid of it.. just park it for a month and you will change your mind =). my wife tried to get me to sell Big Bertha so many times.. i was like hell na! shes literally flawless.. not a leak in the engine and running perfect. shes my baby. but keep up the good work man! i think ima go pour some sugar in my gas tank and try to drive on the freeway so i can fix something on her. your forum inspired me to do so =).
