Hey, got a remote starter in, just need to bypass PATS. I only have 1 key and I need a 2nd to program the bypass, which costs $100 @ dealership. I found this usb module that only needs one key and a pc, but it can only be a 40 bit key to work.

Does the 02 explorer xlt 4.6 use 40 or 80 bit keys? I have the iDataLink ADS-TB

TIA!!! :D

...now that im actually looking to see where is says *only for 40 bit encryption*, i cant find it

looks like ford is implementing 80 bit on 2011+ ...so I guess years>2010 have 40?

You'll spend $50 on the program, and another $30 or so for a key blank to do it yourself. Just take it to the dealer and spend $100 for the spare key.... The $20 is worth the headache in my opinion.

didnt see this reply in my email....but thanks for your suggestion tho, does seem like the better choice.
