Picking up my new 2004 explorer tomorrow unless......

I am picking up my new 2004 explorer XLT 4.0 AWD tomorrow..........Unless I here bad things. I have tried reading up on what they can tow and it does have factory towing package. My boat with half a tank and most of my crap in it weighs almost 3000lbs. From what I've read, it can tow this relatively without a problem. Is this true? If I'm going to have trouble I might pass on the buy. Or any other things I should look for for the year. It only has 88k on it which for a 04 I thought wasn't bad.

I see no reason why anyone would purchase a V6.

I tow a 20' 3000 lbs boat with mine all the time, no problem, lots of torque - don't even know it's back there except gas mileage.
