intermittent fuel pump issue

Another question today lol.

My fuel pump will not always turn on when I turn the key over to "on". Ive noticed this a few weeks ago but its starting to bug me. The majority of the time the pump will prime when I turn the key over. Ever so often (like just now) the pump wouldnt prime and even cycling the key back and forth didnt help until maybe the 10th try.

Supposedly the pump was replaced before but I cannot confirm. Besides replacing the pump; is there anything else I can check. Do we have a fpdm like newer Ford's?

Locate fuel pump relay under hood and swap it with a similar relay to see if relay is the problem

The fuel pump driver module and fuel pressure sensor were implemented on the returnless 2004? and later models. This thread may help: Ford Explorer Fuel Pump Electrical Procedure
