no power to 4x4 switch

So my battery died and I was recharging it over night, I came out in the morning and started it. (with the charger still going) which ive done more then once lol which is bad.

Anyways now I have no 4x4

NO power to 4x4 switch

no power to fuses # 4 digital transmission range sensor
and # 15 4x4 and memory seat disable


They are both a 5amp fuse and are located under the dash

Explorer is a XLT 2002

Is it looking like I need to replace the 4x4 mod?

Check all the fuses, if you have an earlier 02 you will see about 6 fuses under the dash 12, 15,21,23,24 and 29 (29 powers through dash buttons) Then in the engine compartment box 15,17,18

later 02 and beyond builds will use under the dash 12,23,24 and engine comp 17,18.

There are also links in the batt box.

Good luck, hope you don't have to replace the module.

Ok so I just went back out there and Still wasnt recieveing any power to those fuses I had listed earlier.

So I actually have two other 4x4 modules in my shop so i went and got one to just try it

I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and I though ahh ill try it again.


Works... So there ya have it.. a simple reset
