upper and lower ball joints???

I've had a little "popping" in the passenger side front end and shop told me the ball joints will need replacing within the year, they are ok for now but will need to be replaced. They quoted me for both the front right and front left ball joints with control arms and this includes the upper and lower ball joints installed at $538.00, can anyone chime in and let me know if this is a fair price for something like this? This is a shop that I normally use so I trust them but just wanted to get everyone elses take on this.

Yes it's fair. You could pay more. You could do it yourself of course for less. At that price, they should be using decent parts. Though, all these are made in China now.

Really depends on what kind of parts, it's fair if they're using Motorcraft/Moog. If using economy parts each side (control arm and lower ball joint) is somewhere $80 (or less) so that's $160 for both plus alignment.

Motorcraft/Moog will cost $150 each side, so that's $300 already plus alignment.
