Hi,
Changing my trans filter today on 1996 5.0 2wd explorer when lowering the pan the part you see as my profile pic is what was in the pan. Have no idea what it is or where it goes. Couldn't figure out how to upload pics on here so used profile pic sorry.Any help is so greatly appreciated...Thanks

The easiest way to post pics is to get a photobucket account. You can upload your pics there, and it will provide you links to post your photos on here. Use the img links they provide and your photos will be visible from your thread.

Otherwise, if you have them posted elsewhere online, copy the address of the image and enter it in this format on here, but without the spaces.

[ img ] address of your picture [ / img ]

Your finished product will look like this, but without spaces

[ img ] http ://www .explorerforum.com/forums/image.php?u=276718&dateline=1422809616&type=profile [ /img ]

and appear in your thread like this

image.php

The thing in your profile picture looks like the plug ford puts in the fill hole when they test them at the factory. They just get shoved into the transmission during assembly when the dipstick tube is inserted. Finding that in there means your tranny has never had its filter changed before, because that would have been removed the first time your pan came off.
