16 Xsport, 12 Mustang GT
Hey guys, im extremely close to buying a 2015 or 2016 Sport. Still cant decide which im going to go with, thatll probably be when i see a 16 in person, or a great deal on a 2015 comes along. I purchased my 2012 Mustang GT on X-plan but cant remember any of the formulas of how the price is worked out. I was wondering if anyone would know the price on a 15 sport with the 401A package and the metallic white color option ($595) with Xplan. I was also considering the moonroof but unsure.

The dealer wont give me the Xplan price unless I give them my PIN, which I dont have as of yet, waiting on ford corporate to process my paperwork. Just trying to see a ballpark figure of where im at. Also, any inside ideas if more rebates will be coming on the 15s?! They are pretty scarce right now compared to a few months ago. Thanks!! :salute:

Was also looking at a Limited with AWD, 301A and moonroof. Sommany choices, just wish the Sport came with more of the "basic" features like push start, without adding a $4300 option  dont really need all that power mirror/liftgate etc

As far as I know, the only 2015 you can buy now is off the lot. I believe 2015 orders have closed.

^^^ peter is correct, 2016 production starts 5/4. The formula works out to being about $90 above invoice on vehicles.

Formula: Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee ($275)

It is a great way to get a no haggle price and know you are getting a decent deal. I'd personally never beat a dealer up to try to get under invoice.. I understand they need to make a profit on a vehicle.'

Go to fordpartner.com. Type in MC405. That will get u onto the site, you can look up any car at any dealer and get the x-plan cost for any car. Or you can build your own

You can beat X-Plan pretty easily in most cases - I dont think all rebates are available with X-Plan.

I bought my sport with X Plan. On some vehicles you may be able to do better but when I talked to the dealer they said there is no way they'd go near invoice on a Sport because they are limited in production and in reasonably high demand. That may have been BS, but I wasn't going to bother haggling after that.

I did get all the same rebates I would have got otherwise. X Plan also limits the dealer fees which saved a couple hundred more. The dealer can opt not to participate in X Plan but if they do the rules are pretty strict (though less than clear.)

Your mileage may vary, but it worked out for me! (BTW, I did the Mustang Club of America deal and it went through without an issue.)

Ahhh yeah MC405, I think thats the MCA code lol. I got my mustang under MCA X plan, going a different route this time. Thanks for thr replies and yes I was planning on getting a 2015 from a lot, not an order.

I emailed another dealer and they gave me prices that were very little off the MSRP for xplan I remember saving about 3500 on my mustang .

$46,216 is the X-plan Price with destination for a 401A in White, add $1410 for the moonroof. The 2016 Sport has push button start.

You won't do much better then invoice and with Xplan, dealers get an additional spiff for selling an Xplan so many will be willing to sell you Xplan rather then invoice because they make more money off of it even though the cost is about the same.

If you are eligible, i'd just mention xplan and don't waste your time or the dealers.

I had no intentions Of wasting anyones time...... just going over the specifics and seeing what I should expect.

I received all rebates and incentives when I bought my EX via the XPlan.

Sometimes there are additional incentives with X-Plan as well. X-plan makes the process much easier as well, walk in and the price is printed on the bottom of the invoice; you know exactly what you will pay. Multiply that by your states sales tax rate, minus any cash incentives, add your states plate fee and you have your cost within a hundred dollars.

Some people do like the haggle as well, and with Ford bringing back stair step incentive sweeteners to Dealers buying cars at the end of the month could give you better deals.

I got all the incentives with the X-Plan pricing on my 2015 Limited in Jan 2015. It's a pretty good deal.

Yeah there were sweet incentives around the beginning of the year,. I think like 3-4000 if I remember correctly. Im hoping they get better very shortly. Im getting itchy.

The X-Plan is a good low-haggle way to buy a car, but I would ask for the D-Plan which gets you an even lower price. In 2009 I bought a new Focus SES, & the dealer gave me the D-Plan price because they knew I was looking at cars at several different dealerships. Not sure about Explorers in today's market, but it doesn't hurt to ask for the D-Plan.

In certain areas of the U.S. , you can get lower pricing than the X-Plan through the following website:

http://www.carprousa.com/certified-dealers

From what I understand, Car Pro pricing is somewhere between the X-Plan & D-Plan. During the past 3 years I've bought two Fords via Car Pro, so I've beat the X-Plan on all of my Fords. I am certain that buying a car via the Car Pro program is the definition of the no-haggle/no-hassle experience.

Yeah PD, that was MCA. I saw you had a Mustang, that's why I threw it in there. I went to 3 different dealers, none would beat the X-plan. You do get incentives with the X-plan, but sometimes it less than what the manufacturer is offering. Maybe I'll see your Mustang May 3 at the AHRC show in Bobemia!!

My 2011 5th gen has been a nightmare, my escort, ranger, f150's and 07 edge without the my ford touch I would give anything to have those back over this current Explorer!

All 13/14/15 Sports have push button start. Its not new for 16.

Only if they have the 401A package. A 'base" Sport does not have a push start. kind of ridiculous if you ask me lol

I wasnt planning on it, cause i didnt know. Now I may have to look into going!

I just need a new daily driver ASAP. The 2002 is about to explode!

Here in Canada all Sports have Push Button Start. There is only the 400A package available here and it does included Push Button Start.
