Ha, my daily is a '95 Neon ACR clone. It's a decent little car, cheep and fun to drive. I hit a cow with it last fall, hence the green frontend. The ride on the roof is a '10 Giant Trance x0. I love the aspect of a $4k bike on the roof of a $500 car.

That rig is stunning! I love the new trucks but my 01 7.3 is still a great vehicle and with only 82k miles, I just cant give it up.

^^^^ Jealous!!!! I've always wanted a GT500.. When the new GT500 comes out in the 17/18MY, I think that may be my summer car. My F350 will be paid off by then and it will be calling my name.

The exhaust note is incredible. I thought of the GT350 because I can get it at invoice but I'm not looking to track the car so I think I'll wait for the GT500.

That rig is stunning! I love the new trucks but my 01 7.3 is still a great vehicle and with only 82k miles, I just cant give it up.

What's funny is that you can probably get more money for your 7.3 then a 6.0... 7.3s are hard to find especially with the body not rotting yet and really hold their value.

My brother in law has a fleet of 7.3s, 6.0s and a couple of 6.7s for his landscaping company. He just retired his 1996 7.3 that he has used for landscaping and plowing since new. Only reason he had to retire it was the frame was finally rotting through. He still has 3 or 4 7.3s going.

2015 Ford Explorer Sport Black with roof rack, towing package, brake controller, Husky Weatherbeater mats throughout.

2008 Subaru Outback XT Silver, 5-sp Manual, with roof rack, moon-roof, "winter package", and WeatherTech mats throughout.

Of course the sport is the EcoBoost engine, producing 365 peak horsepower. and the Outback uses Subaru's 2.5L 4-cyl boxer-style turbocharged engine producing 250 peak horsepower.

The Explorer is approximately 13.1 pounds of vehicle per horsepower with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Outback is approximately 14 pounds of vehicle per horsepower with a 5-speed manual transmission. Both have some version of 4WD.

The Outback feels a little more nimble and peppy, but honestly even though a manual transmission benefits from a more direct linkage between the crank shaft and the wheels than an automatic, I kinda doubt that most drivers (myself included) can shift as quickly as a modern automatic. I'd give the advantage to the Explorer in a head-to-head quarter mile race.

As for mileage, the outback gets about 25 on the highway if it's not loaded down too much. Under similar driving conditions the Explorer seems to get about 21 MPG. But of course it's a much bigger vehicle than the Outback. You can't carry seven people in an Outback. Even 5 is a little tight.
