- 1995 Ford Explorer 4x4
Okay, So i have an 1995 Explorer Expedition series 4x4 4.0v6 with a transmission issue. First My O/D light likes to come on (blinking), I reset it and it comes back after about 10 miles. Second, when cold, I can drive it hard or nice and it shifts beautifully through all except O/D. As soon as she warms up I have to drive her very nicely if I want it to shift out of any gear. I can manually shift fine from 1st to second but if I put it in Drive it shifts back to first.
So short story
O/D light flashes once warm after being reset
Doesn't want to shift once warm into any gear.
From the threads I have read I am leaning toward a bad solenoid pack.
I am considering replacing the valve body gasket while I am in there.
I have replaced the (TPS) recently with the same outcome
Any ideas, recommendations, or experiences you would like to share? I am all ears.
