Well it was time to part ways with my beloved '98 XLT. I got 7 great years out of it. It was just time to let go while I could still get decent money for it. Decided to take a dive into the 3rd gen world. After four 2nd gens I just decided to try something different.
So out with the old:

In with the new:

Any rubbing?

Do you have any rubbing issues with those 265/70/R17s without a lift?

My 02 Explorer XLT… nothing too special about it & the pictures aren’t all that great either…

Things I’ve done to the exterior:

* Installed a set of OEM 17” chrome rims (originals pretty chipped & oxidized)
* Installed a set of Cooper Discoverer ATR 265-70’s (they replaced a set of 245’s)
* Removed OEM step-bars (starting to rust & never used them anyways)
* Removed OEM roof-rack (never use it & was curious about the look)
* Covered the cracked lift gate with a color matching plastic panel I made
* Added a bug-guard
* Added vent-shades

Things I’ve done that don’t show:

* K&N cold air kit
* Flowmaster 40 series
* Removed all 3 CATs (main one was shot anyways)
* Brown Wire Mod (BWM)
* Alpine head unit (have an iPod to plug in)
* Rockford Fosgate amp
* Memphis 12” sub (1 in a custom box… running OEM door speakers with most of their bass turned off)

are those factory 235/70/16 tires ? they look slightly bigger. I am getting active on the forum again and I am buying a 05' tomorrow in Burlington NJ.

Sorry I took so long to get back CALDWELL. The snow has had me working crazy hours the last 3 days. I recently upgraded the tires, the new ones in those pictures are 245/75 R16 Kumho KL78 Road Venture AT. Good Luck with your new to you '05.

2004 Ford Explorer Limited V8

Recently purchased a 2004 Ford Explorer Limited V8. Mod's so far include blacked out headlights, black OEM grill (stock was chrome) and 16x8 Cragar Soft 8's wrapped with BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2's.
