Hi there

My right turn signal flashes really fast while the left one is fine, last year this was an intermittent fault (it would go away after using the turn signal a few times)... All three bulbs flash and the hazzards work fine too...

If anyone has any clues they would be greatly received..

oh and its a 2000 NF Explorer

Cheers

Sounds like the multi function switch is faulty. Creating too much resistance on right turn setting causing the fast flashing. You can get a new one from www.rockauto.com .

yeah, sussed that

if its a resistance problem, is it worth cleaning the bulbs and connections ?

cheers

Its possible to clean the terminals inside the switch if you take it off the steering column. My flashers used to work intermittently and it fixed them. Its a bit fiddly, but nothing flies apart when you separate the switch.
Clean all the contacts and put some switch grease in.

just a quick post to say that I ordered and fitted a new switch and now my turn signals are perfect, thanks ALL for your help

What a great website this is
