Good morning all,
So a bit of background, 03' XLS 4.0 v6 182-3k miles...
The other day, the engine started bucking a bit while it was idling every 10-15 seconds or so. I didn't notice whether or not it was doing it while driving. I have noticed now, that it does shudder a bit at times while driving.
And still every few seconds while at a stop light, it will cycle then buck, cycle then buck...
The engine isn't throwing any codes, no dash indicators are illuminated..
And the bucks have very little to no impact on the tachometer, although sitting in the vehicle, they are quite noticeable.
My initial thought is a misfire, due to bad spark plug. As far as I know, the plugs/wires haven't been changed...
And I was going to attempt to change those this weekend.
I guess I just want input from more experienced mechanics/Ford owners, so I could know I'm not way off base and looking in the wrong direction.
Thank you in advance.
