I bought (leased) a 2018 F150 on Saturday!
I was looking for a 2009-2014 body style for a few months, but there were no decent ones in my area. So I was traveling all over on Saturdays to go look at them, and the ones I found either had high mileage, or cab corners, or just plain didn’t fit in our budget.
Then my general manager (who I’ve discussed this whole truck thing with multiple times) texts me pictures of the 2018 above while I’m sitting at the desk of a salesman in NY about to sign on the dotted line, that he’s 99% sure he can get a super crew to go through at my budget payment of $300 or less.
I wish he told me that before I drove all the way out to NY!...anyway, long story short...I left the dealer in NY and came back to my work and he already had it here from our other store!
I would have liked a V8 and a 6.5ft bed with a floor shifter...but it’s brand new so I really can’t complain. And there’s no way I’m getting all that for $300 a month or less!
I haven’t had a brand new vehicle in a long time, so I’m happy.
I still have the Explorer that I started this thread with...my wife will drive it now as we traded in her 2009 for the truck.
I’ll be doing a lot of work on the Explorer pretty soon...wheel bearings, shocks and struts, etc...and I have to put the exhaust back to stock for her.
