I have an opportunity to by a 2004 ranger as a yard plow. Owner says the 4wd pops in and out but says the shift actuator could be removed in 4wd to keep it in.
Does the ranger use a TCC like the 2nd gen explorers with the shift motor for range selection only?
Or can the case be manually locked in 4x4 hi like the first gen? If so, does it have the pain in ass center axle disconnect or live front hubs?
