Hey guys, I'm new here but I've had my '01 Sport Trac 4x4 since 2013 and I'm having an issue that maybe someone could shed some light on.
Basically when I shift into 4x4 high, it gets a bit clunky, but then it gets worse and worse. Any time I accelerate (even after attempting to turn 4x4 off), it still gets loud... like the chain on a roller coaster pulling you up the first hill. It gets to the point where it rattles the truck and I'm not the most mechanically inclined person. I've seen in some places that it's possibly something to do with the transfer case or a loose rod. Any ideas? Thanks!

have you checked your tire tread? if any tire is worn down considerably more than the other tires, it will throw your drivetrain off and cause those clunky symptoms.
