Small hose on 4.0 sohc thermostat housing

Has anyone ever succesfully replaced the small hose from.the water pump to the therm housing without removing water pump or therm housing?Ive been trying for an hour to get it on there and getting aggrivated.

Yes Sir. I could. 2 hours and bloody fingers and I was very angry for the engineer. And appx. 2 months later again. Because I cut and installed a normal car water pipe there but that screw on the right killed it again. After it I ordered a shaped Motorcraft part ( I had to wait two weeks till arrived to Budapest) and it fit perfect, no problem since then. As I remember I started it on the top.

Thanks for the reply.I decided that I was wasting too much time and energy trying to force it so I just went ahead and pulled the therm housing bolts and raised it enough to slide it on.2 hours and it was done.
