Thermostat Housing

I have a 98 ford explorer. Im trying to replace my thermostat housing. I just dont know if im supposed to drain the radiator or can i just replace the t-stat housing without draining anything?

Welcome to this forum! You don't have to drain the entire cooling system but expect some coolant to come out when you remove the thermostat housing.
