Hi at all,

i did not notice this behaviour cause i normally don't use the kickdown with throttle full open.
But the last time on a highway i have to push down the paddle
and the engine runs nearly to 6000rpm without shifting up.
I lifted up the paddle a little bit an it shifts up.
In normal driving situations everything is ok.
No DTC's.
A year ago the transmission and valvebody was rebuilded,
the valvebody became the sonnax zip kit.
Did someone have had this issue?
Which parts could be involved? TPS, solenoid, DTR sensor, ...?

kind regards

Wolfgang

Lots of members let the transmission shift at the rev limiter I could be wrong but I think your transmission is fine if your that worried disconnect the battery for ten minutes to reset the ecm

The last healthy SOHC I drove, it'd run to 6K before shifting. It was an 01 XLT, 2WD, and it'd peak before shifting, it was a fresh rebuild so it was definitely okay.

Hi, is that rev limiter mechanical (valvebody?) or is it electronical (ECM?)?
With the last two transmissions it shift up by 5500rpm while WOT.
But now 6000rpm and no upshift, sounds horrible.
I also think the tranny is fine and have done a good job with the rebuild.
Maybe a solenoid must be adjusted (torx screw)?
Disconnecting the batterie was almost done, nothing change.

regards

Wolfgang
