Hey guys, I just bought a '95 Explorer Sport with a bunch of mods and have been working my way through it trying to find what all the previous owners have done. It has a manual t-case swap and I would like to know which model it is. All I know is that it is a BW unit, but it seems like there's a few different possibilities on which models will fit the truck? Here are some pictures I grabbed of it; I don't know if there's any way to identify which unit it is from the pictures or not. Are there any identification codes I can find on it anywhere? I did not find any when looking previously.

Easy that is a pre 1998 Borg Warner 1354 manual
or bw 1354m

The only t case that will bolt up to your transmission is a 1350 or 1354, the 1350 has a different front yoke for the driveshaft, so yours is a 1354 and in 1998 they switched to a cardigan joint style front shaft, so yours is the pre 98 version.
It is the correct t case for a manual conversion into a 95 sploder

1990-1997 Borg warner 1354 manual

hope that helps!

That's exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks a lot!

You are welcome!! Nice score, 95 sport with a manual t case is a wicked good vehicle. I had a 95 explorer in my fleet with 387K miles on the original engine, second transmission, still passing emissions in Colorado

Yeah, I thought it was a really good score... lifted, 33's, 4.56 gears, lockers front and rear, manual 5 speed, manual t-case, tube bumpers, winch, rock sliders, etc. Bought it for a couple hundred and all it need was a fuel pump fuse and relay. Has about 180k miles but it seems like it runs like a top so I'm hoping for quite a few more.
