1999 Ford Explorer XLT
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT, 4.0 v6, 240k miles. It has developed a leak in the radiator. It has never overheated. The thing is is that it does not do it all the time, and only sometimes you can notice a drip on the ground from it. This is where I think the leak is at. If you stand at the front of the vehicle and look at the motor, the leak is coming from where the upper radiator hose attaches to the radiator. I made sure the hose clamp was tight, but it still leaks. The radiator hose is not that old, only about a year or so. Is it possible that the plastic cracked at that area?

Thanks.

Plastic radiator tanks get cracks with age, seen it happen many times. Sometimes they are hairline cracks very hard to see.
I didn't notice the cracks in my radiator in my 2000 GTP until after I looked at the photos I took of it on the computer.
