Center console lid loose

I don't know if something happened, or if I've just never noticed (which is hard to believe), but my center console lid has a good 1/2" of travel up when latched. Is that how they are, or am I missing something? I tried looking at the part online, but the drawing doesn't show the latch.

That's what I thought. Is there a rubber piece on the latch, or somewhere? Maybe two little rubber bumpers under the lid? I see two holes that look like that could be the issue.

Sorry for the delay Jon. Yes, there are 2 small rubber bumpers on the fixed part of the console.

Correction, the rubber bumpers are on the underside of the console lid. Now that I've taken the picture I see there some clips on the lid that I've never really noticed before.

Thanks. I'm missing the top two bumpers, which are going to be a challenge to find replacements for. You've never noticed the pen/lip balm holders?
