Clear film on front of hood

Quick question... I debadge everything I drive, and I was eyeballing the "Explorer" letters on the front of the hood when I realized that there is a clear paint protection film there. Is that factory? if so is it solid under the letters? I would have to take them off only to find out that the fil is cut out behind them.

Perhaps the previous owner had that done. I'm not aware nor have I read anything about a factory installed film on the hood or anywhere else.

Ok thanks. It appears to go underneath the letters but I just cant tell for sure.

Could be Venture Shield. Had that on my 16 in the front and it is on my 18. It goes maybe 12" up the hood.
