So after a few runs on my 94 explorer, I've noticed that the A4LD gives a hard "thud" when I'm downshifting from 2nd to 1st at around 25mph or when I put it in reverse or drive from park - I get the hard thud too. The other gears shift fine and dont have any issues and reverse is good as well.

Fluid is topped off and the vacuum shifter modulator has been replaced. Anything I might be missing?

Adjust the bands, and the kickdown cable. Check the vacuum line on the vacuum modulator for leaks & fluid. Check the transmission & engine mounts.

Engine & Tranny mount are good
Vaccuum modulator is good

How do you adjust the bands and kick down cable?
