4:88??????

I did some calculations at richmondgear.com

Daily Driver
Navajo
with 4.10s, 32, and .79 overdrive my RPMs at 75 mph should be 2551

Trail Truck
Explorer
with 5.13s, 36, and .75 overdrive my RPMs at 75 mph should be 2693

Explorer
with 4.56s, 36, and .75 overdrive my RPMs at 75 mph should be 2394

4.88s are available for a D44 axle like he has.

4.88s are NOT an option for you without swapping axles.

Go 4.56s.

These one's are so funny.

Here's the deal:
Explorer's with TTB front axles have these gear choices:
3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 5.13

Explorer'swith the IFS D35 front end have these choices:
3.73, 4.10, 4.56 (do they make 5.13 for the new IFS?)

Explorer's with straight front axles can do whatever they want because these guys already do whatever they want.

I just with they DID make the 4.27 gears for the TTB D35, but they dont.

Gotta add 4.88 to the IFS list. Jefe just put some in his 2000.
Big Kel, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU! IFS is 1995 and newer. You have a 1991.

so can the IFS use any dana 35 (regular rotation) gears? Is it the same?

Just curious, as I will probably never own one....I like my TTB's, the underdog, always root for the underdog....

To my knowledge, the SLA D35 (TTB is a form of IFS too) can use regular standard cut D35 gears.

Just like the ones you'd find in a Jeep rear axle.

Another vote for 4.56's.
