When I'm leaving from a stop, if I apply anywhere from 1/2 to full throttle the brake light comes on. It happens only for a second and then turns off. It will happen during heavy acceleration from speeds below 15 MPH. Also if I'm driving over a rough road (like lots of pot holes) it will come on for a second. It does not come on during braking and I have not noticed any loss in braking performance. Oh, it's on a 1998 XLT. Any ideas?

Check your fluid level.

It sounds to me like it is just high enough to be oaky but it sloshes around from time to time and gets just low enough to trip the light

Yeah, and check the brake system for problems if the fluid is low.

Brake fluid was low. Had the entire brake system checked and it was okay. Thanks guys

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay !!!!!!!!!!!!!
