98 Cobra's on a 97 XLT

From my 95 Mustang, I have 98 Cobra R 17x9 wheels on Khumo Ecsta 712 17" tires. Will they fit my 97 Explorer? I've been doing some reading and some say I would need spacers and others say no. Will they rub or fit ok?

i ran the 17x9 R's with no spacers. it will all depend on if you are lowered or not, and what size tire you go with. if you are lowered, the inside of the wheel lip could rub on the lower control arm. if you run a fairly big tire, the tire could rub on the swaybar. both of these issues would only be at full turn.

for the control arm- you could grind off a little on the lip of the lower control arm, or replace the stock steering limiter with a bolt. this will give you an adjustable steering limiter, which you could set to stop the spindle before the rim makes contact. same thing if the tire rubs the swaybar. it will not reduce your turning radius all that much.

What about 245/65/17 on a lowered 2000 ex. They will rub a bit right?
