Riddle me this....(Auto tranny Question)

My donor truck wants to creep forward when I have it in Park. Other than that it works great

And by creep forward I mean like it is almost in drive, but not quite.

oh yeah, when the truck is in park with the engine off it is like it is in nuetral, ie I have to put the parking brake on or it will roll away

Check the linkage adjustment first ....

I don't have my ATSG manual handy, but basically, you need to unhook the clip from the linkage on the tranny and pull the joint apart. Move the selector on the tranny side three clicks to the rear, then have someone place the vehicle in drive and hold slight pressure on the selector. re-attach the connector to the tranny and lock the clip back down.

This was for my 5R55E anyway ...

I assumed that the pawl was broken, but why would that allow the truck to creep forward(think up a slight incline)?
